Formcrafts

Formcrafts is an online form builder for collecting responses, managing forms, and accessing uploaded files across an organization.

Verdict

Formcrafts lets your team pull form responses, metadata, and uploaded files directly into Switchy conversations. @mention it to list forms across workspaces, fetch response data with visitor context and workflow results, or download files that respondents attached. Marketing and product teams use it to analyze feedback without switching tabs; support teams pull submission details to troubleshoot faster. The MCP uses API-key auth and paginates with before/after timestamps instead of cursors, so you'll need to check has_more flags when fetching large datasets.

Common use cases

  • Analyze customer feedback from embedded forms
  • Pull support ticket details without leaving chat
  • Audit form submissions across multiple workspaces
  • Download user-uploaded files for review
  • Track response trends by visitor metadata

Setup

Setup guide

  1. 11. Open your Switchy workspace and navigate to Settings > Integrations > Browse MCP Servers. 2. Search for Formcrafts and click Connect. 3. You'll be prompted to paste an API key—generate one in your Formcrafts account under Settings > API Keys with read permissions for forms, responses, and files. 4. Paste the key into Switchy and click Authorize. 5. Once connected, open any Project and type '@Formcrafts list forms' to confirm the integration works. 6. You should see a list of forms from your organization; if the response is empty, verify the API key has the correct scopes and that your Formcrafts account contains at least one published form. 7. To fetch responses or download files, use '@Formcrafts list form responses' with a form ID or '@Formcrafts download file' with a file ID from a previous query.

What teammates see: by default, memories from Formcrafts are scoped to the Project (PROJECT visibility) - you can mark any memory PRIVATE or share it ORG-wide.

@Formcrafts list files uploaded in the last 30 days and identify any larger than 5MB or with .exe extensions.

Export Response Data

@Formcrafts list form responses for form ID fc_xyz789, then format the results as a table with columns for submission date, email, and message.

Retrieve Submission Files

@Formcrafts list form responses for form ID fc_def456, find the most recent submission with an uploaded file, then download that file.

Example outputs

Illustrative - representative of the model's voice and quality, not literal recordings.

Prompt

@Formcrafts list all forms in our account and show me which ones have received responses in the last 7 days

Output

Found 12 forms across 3 workspaces. Five forms received responses in the past week: 'Product Feedback Survey' (47 responses), 'Demo Request Form' (23 responses), 'Bug Report Submission' (18 responses), 'Newsletter Signup' (156 responses), and 'Contact Us' (9 responses). The remaining seven forms have been inactive since early December. The Product Feedback Survey and Newsletter Signup forms are your highest-traffic assets right now.

Notes

This example demonstrates read-only discovery across the entire Formcrafts organization. The MCP uses time-window pagination (before/after timestamps) with no continuation tokens, so large form libraries may require multiple calls. API key scope must cover workspace and form read access.

Prompt

@Formcrafts pull the last 50 responses from our 'Demo Request Form' and summarize the most common company sizes and use cases mentioned

Output

Retrieved 50 responses submitted between January 2–8. Company size breakdown: 22 responses from teams of 10–50 employees, 16 from 51–200, 8 from 201–500, and 4 from enterprise orgs over 500. Most common use cases: lead qualification automation (18 mentions), customer onboarding workflows (14 mentions), and event registration (9 mentions). Twelve respondents specifically requested Salesforce integration. All responses include visitor metadata like referrer URL and device type.

Notes

This synthesis example pairs response data with AI reasoning to extract patterns. The MCP returns typed field values and workflow results but does not filter or aggregate server-side—the AI performs that analysis. Rate limits apply to response fetching; large result sets require pagination with time windows.

Prompt

@Formcrafts download the file uploaded in response ID fc_resp_abc123 and check if it's a valid PDF resume under 5MB

Output

Downloaded file 'resume_candidate_47.pdf' (file ID: fc_file_xyz789, 2.3 MB). The file is a valid PDF containing a two-page resume with standard sections: contact info, work experience at three companies spanning 2018–2024, education credentials, and a skills list. File size is well under the 5 MB threshold. The upload timestamp shows it was submitted 14 minutes ago as part of the 'Career Applications' form.

Notes

This example shows file retrieval and AI-assisted validation. The MCP returns an offloaded file reference that the AI can inspect. Formcrafts stores uploaded files temporarily; older submissions may have expired attachments. API key must include file read permissions, and the response ID must be known in advance from a prior list operation.

Use-case deep-dives

Lead intake triage for sales teams

When Formcrafts MCP speeds up inbound lead qualification

A 5-person sales team runs lead-gen forms on their site and needs to triage 40-60 submissions daily during standup. The Formcrafts MCP pulls form responses with visitor metadata and workflow results in one call, so the team can build a shared Switchy prompt that scores leads by completion rate and UTM source without opening the Formcrafts dashboard. This works when your forms have consistent field schemas and you're triaging volume under 200 responses per day—the MCP's pagination uses before/after timestamps with no continuation token, so pulling a week's backlog gets clunky. If your team reviews submissions once daily and your forms collect structured data (dropdowns, checkboxes, not just open text), this MCP cuts triage time from 15 minutes to 3. Set up one API key, point the team at the shared workspace, and stop switching tabs.

Event registration file retrieval

When you need uploaded files from event signups fast

A 3-person event ops team runs a conference registration form that collects speaker headshots and sponsor logos. The week before the event, they need to pull 80 files and hand them to the design team for badge printing. The Formcrafts MCP's Download File tool grabs uploads by file ID and returns an offloaded reference, so the team can script a batch pull in Switchy without clicking through the Formcrafts UI one file at a time. This scenario works when your form collects under 500 files per event and you have a clear list of file IDs from the List Files tool—if your form mixes file types (PDFs, PNGs, JPEGs) and you need to filter by extension, you'll still need manual sorting after download. For teams running 2-4 events per quarter with file-heavy forms, this MCP saves 90 minutes of admin work per event. One API key, one shared prompt, done.

Customer feedback analysis across workspaces

When Formcrafts MCP helps product teams spot patterns in feedback

A 6-person product team runs feedback forms across three workspaces (one per product line) and wants to spot recurring feature requests during monthly planning. The Formcrafts MCP's List Workspaces and List Form Responses tools let the team pull all feedback into one Switchy thread, then ask the AI to cluster requests by theme without exporting CSVs or merging spreadsheets. This works when your feedback volume is under 1,000 responses per month and your forms use consistent field names across workspaces—if each product line uses different question wording, the AI struggles to normalize responses. The MCP's pagination caps at one page per call with no continuation token, so pulling 6 months of history takes multiple prompts. For teams doing monthly or quarterly feedback reviews with moderate volume, this MCP turns a 2-hour export-and-pivot exercise into a 20-minute conversation. Connect the API key, share the workspace, and let the AI do the clustering.

Frequently asked

What does the Formcrafts MCP do in Switchy?

It pulls form responses, file uploads, and form metadata from your Formcrafts account into Switchy's AI workspace. Your team can query submission data, download uploaded files, and inspect form structure without logging into Formcrafts. The MCP reads live responses including visitor metadata and workflow results, so you can analyze trends or route follow-ups directly in Switchy.

Do I need admin access to connect Formcrafts?

You need a Formcrafts API key, which typically requires account owner or admin permissions to generate. The key grants read access to all workspaces, forms, and responses in your organization. If you're not an admin, ask whoever manages your Formcrafts account to create the key and share it with you securely.

Can the Formcrafts MCP create or edit forms?

No. The MCP is read-only. It lists forms, fetches responses, and downloads uploaded files, but it can't create forms, update fields, or modify submissions. If you need to change form structure or trigger workflows, you still do that in Formcrafts directly. The MCP exists to surface data for analysis and AI-driven follow-up, not to replace the Formcrafts editor.

How is this different from exporting CSV files from Formcrafts?

The MCP streams live data into Switchy on demand, so you're always working with current responses. CSV exports are static snapshots that go stale the moment you download them. The MCP also preserves typed field values and workflow results, which CSVs flatten into text. If your team needs real-time access or wants to ask AI questions about recent submissions, the MCP beats manual exports.

Who on the team should connect the Formcrafts MCP?

Whoever owns your Formcrafts account or has API key access. Once connected, everyone in your Switchy workspace can query the data without needing their own Formcrafts login. If multiple people manage forms, connect it once under a shared service account or the primary admin, then grant Switchy access to the relevant team members.
